To be eligible for any course at DSE, applicants must meet the following general criteria:

1. Age Requirement:

   • Applicants must be 16 years or older for most diploma courses.
   • Some programs, particularly Access to Higher Education Diplomas, may require applicants to be 18 years or older.

2. Educational Background:

   • A secondary or high school certificate (or equivalent qualification) is required for most courses.
   • Higher-level courses (Level 4, 5 & 6 Diplomas) may require applicants to have a Level 3 diploma in a relevant field.

3. English Language Proficiency:

   • Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.
   • No formal English test is required; however, students must demonstrate competence in English to participate in coursework and assessments.

4. Identification Documents:

   • A valid passport or national identification card must be provided during the application process.

• Access to Higher Education Diplomas:
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older and hold a secondary school certificate.
• Professional Diplomas:
  • Open to anyone aged 16+, with at least a secondary school certificate and an interest in the subject.
• Level 1, 2 & 3 Diplomas:
  • Applicants must be 16+ years old and hold a secondary or high school certificate.
• Level 4, 5 & 6 Diplomas:
  • Applicants must have a Level 3 diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • A £10 non-refundable application fee applies to all applicants.
