Introduction
The Infection Prevention and Control (Level 2) course at DeGesh School of Entrepreneurship is a short professional course designed to help learners understand how infections spread and how they can be prevented in workplaces, learning environments, health and social care settings, childcare, hospitality, community services and everyday practice.
Building on DeGesh School of Entrepreneurship’s commitment to practical, workplace-focused professional development, this course introduces learners to the key principles of infection prevention and control, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, safe cleaning, waste disposal, respiratory hygiene, safe handling of body fluids, and the importance of reporting infection risks.
The course is suitable for adults, employees, support workers, volunteers, carers, childcare workers, hospitality staff, cleaners, education support staff, and learners preparing for roles where hygiene, safety and duty of care are important. It supports learners to recognise infection risks, follow safe procedures, protect themselves and others, and contribute to safer working and learning environments.
At Level 2, learners are expected to develop a stronger understanding of infection control responsibilities and apply this knowledge to realistic workplace situations. The course does not replace specialist clinical training or employer-specific infection control policies, but it provides essential awareness and practical knowledge for reducing the risk of infection and promoting good health and safety practice.
